Where to Watch Movies in English in Medellín

Most Hollywood films in Medellín screen dubbed into Spanish, not in English. Original-language showings exist at every major chain, but you have to know which listing to pick — and the difference is two words on the schedule.

The one thing to learn: SUB vs DOB

LabelMeansYou want it?
SUBTITULADA (SUB)Original audio — English — with Spanish subtitlesYes
DOBLADA (DOB)Dubbed into SpanishNo

Every listing on cinecolombia.com and in the app is tagged one or the other. Check the tag, not the film title — the same film runs in both formats at the same theatre on the same day.

Wednesday is the half-price day

Cine Colombia’s discount day is Wednesday, when tickets at its Multiplex theatres are half price (Pulzo).

On ticket prices generally: Cine Colombia publishes a separate price sheet per theatre, and rates vary by showtime band (before 2:59 pm, 5:00–7:59 pm, after 8:00 pm), by seat type (General or Preferencial) and by payment method (example sheet: Cine Colombia 2026 prices, Multiplex Nuestro Bogotá). There is no single national price, so check the sheet for the theatre you are going to rather than trusting a figure from a guide.

Procinal is the third national chain and also operates in the metropolitan area, though it programmes fewer subtitled showings than the two above.

Practical tips

  1. Go early in a film’s run. Subtitled showtimes are often cut back after the opening week, as dubbed screenings take the better slots.
  2. El Poblado has the most English screenings. It is where the audience for them is, and the programming follows.
  3. Filter before you travel. Both chains’ sites let you filter by format, so confirm a SUB showtime exists before crossing the city for it.
  4. Animated films are almost always dubbed. Children’s releases screen in Spanish by default; a SUB showing of an animated feature is unusual.

A note on this guide

This page was rewritten in September 2026. The previous version stated that the discount day was Tuesday in one section and Wednesday in another — it is Wednesday. It also duplicated its theatre list and its SUB/DOB explanation, and contained two lines of conversational filler left over from drafting. Theatre addresses were verified and added; concession-stand details that carried no source were removed.
